As a senior designer Mijke is available to work on any kind of design project. She makes beautiful artworks and patterns. And creates a creative concept to the full production of a trend book or licensing style guide, Mijke does it all. Her enthusiasm, extremely creative spirit, leadership abilities and eye for detail make her start a concept, alone or in collaboration, with the ability to turn it into a completed product.

Freelance projects

Currently Mijke is designing several licensing look books. And designs a lot of artworks and patterns for big retailers. She is also actively engaged with the Mauritshuis, Den Haag. By working on new patterns and a inspirational style guide.

Qualities

Mijke is very goal-oriented, has strong communication skills, is stress resistant and works with an infectious passion and enthusiasm towards a deadline. In addition, she is not afraid to think ‘out of the box’ and the role as art director will fit her perfectly when it comes to leading the creative process of bigger projects.

Career

Starting her career as a graphic designer in the product design industry, Mijke uses her graphic skills for her self-designed products. A few years later she extends her expertise to the fashion industry. In the next 12 years she works as a fashion accessories designer for big brands like: Zara, Scotch & Soda, Tommy Hilfiger, Hema & Mexx.

Her work as an accessories designer brings her to many places in the world, such as: China, Japan, India and the Philippines. That’s where she gains the experience of being part of the production process.
